Children in Crisis:
Local and Global Challenges
If you want to evaluate the physical, mental, and emotional health of a society,
then look at how it treats its children. Are children well educated? Do they
have access to adequate health care? Do they live in stable environments? Do
they have adult advocates?
Unfortunately, the answer is “no” for many children in South Carolina’s Upstate,
the United States, and the world. On Friday, March 28, Mary Black Foundation,
the University of South Carolina Upstate and United Way of the Piedmont will host
an extraordinary one-day conference that focuses on these children. “Children in Crisis: Local and Global Challenges” will bring together an outstanding group of local, national, and international
speakers to address a variety of important issues related to pre-teen children. (view schedule)
The total cost for the conference is $35, which includes all sessions and a full
buffet lunch at the conference center.
Conference Date: March 28, 2008, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Registration Deadline: March 24
