and our staff will match you with a volunteer opportunity that fits into your
schedule and interests.
Here’s just a sample of the types of volunteer opportunities that exist in Spartanburg
and Union Counties:
- Sign up for the AmeriCorpsVISTA program. Learn more
- Spend some time tutoring an adult to help them prepare for the GED exam
- Serve as a mentor to an at risk youth
- Do some office work – file papers, answer phones, and direct office traffic
- Spend some time with a senior citizen
- Teach someone how to read
- Get trained to serve on a disaster response team
- Work with animals at a local shelter or clinic
- Help kids in an after school program with their homework
- Paint a room, do some landscaping, or repair some broken equipmentSort or repair
donated items at a local thrift store
- Greet patients at a medical clinic and help them complete paperwork
- Coordinate a local scouting group
- Conduct activities at a local senior center or nursing home
