Leadership Society

Generosity at the leadership giving level ($1,000 or more annually) changes lives
for the better. The high school drop out
that earns his GED, the five-year-old that is ready for school because of an early literacy program, the seniors
that have access to support services – all receive help that makes a difference
because of this level of generosity.
Commitment to the community demonstrated by a gift at the leadership level sets
an example of caring that others will emulate. The giving history is proof: a steady
increase every year in leadership giving shows the collective power of a single
gift combined with others to magnify the impact. In the 2007-2008 fiscal year, leadership giving
comprised 33% of the entire annual campaign.
The purpose of the General Daniel Morgan Society is to recognize and encourage individuals to higher levels of philanthropic
investment in their community.
Founded in 1986, the General Daniel Morgan Society is affiliated with both the
Palmetto Society (South Carolina Leadership Giving Society) and the Tocqueville
Society, the national society which includes members who contribute $10,000 or more annually to United Way.
