United Way of the Piedmont Young Leaders Society Nonprofit Fellowes Program

2011 YLS Nonprofit Fellowes

If I can in any way contribute to the diversion or improvement of the community in which I live, I shall leave it, when I am summoned out of it, with the secret satisfaction of thinking I have not lived in vain.  ~ Joseph Addison

United Way of the Piedmont established the Nonprofit Fellowes program for the dual purpose of (1) educating our next generation of leaders on the critical role nonprofit organizations play in our community and (2) equipping these individuals with the skills necessary to serve as effective volunteer leaders.  The program engages 10-15 individuals in a 6 month journey of community minded enlightenment and skill building. Monthly sessions are lead by servant leaders who seek to engage participants in a lifetime of service.

The deadline to apply is December 2, 2011.  A $200 fee must be remitted by January 6. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation written by an employer, supervisor, group leader, etc. focusing on your character, strengths for board membership, volunteer/community service, skills and abilities.
