Retired / Senior Volunteer

In 2006/2007, senior citizens volunteered more than 25,500 hours to help local organizations, ranging from tutoring to delivering meals to computer work.

Retired from your job . . . but not from life? Make volunteering a part of your retirement plan!

RSVP of Spartanburg County offers interesting, meaningful volunteer opportunities to persons, 55 years of age or older, who are eager to do something that makes a difference in their community. Join over 300 RSVP volunteers who last year contributed over 46,000 volunteer hours in a variety of volunteer positions. RSVP specializes in tapping the skills and experience of those who are nearing retirement, recent retirees and long-term retirees by matching their talents and interests with the critical needs of local non-profit organizations.

As an RSVP volunteer you receive :
  • Personalized service from an RSVP program coordinator who will help you find just the right volunteer opportunity for you. The coordinator will then stay in touch with you as needed.
  • Connections to volunteer opportunities that serve a critical community need. You know your time will be well invested in making a difference in your community.
  • Pre-screening of agencies for good volunteer management.
