The numbers are in and Overflow Thanksgiving 2019 was a huge success!! The community and local businesses helped collect 1,736 bags which will provide approximately 2,000 Thanksgiving meals for families in need.
The annual food supply drive called Overflow Thanksgiving is organized by United Way of the Piedmont, First Baptist Spartanburg, TOTAL Ministries, and Second Harvest.
This year, United Way partnered with UPS and on Monday, November 12th, made stops at 23 participating companies for items. Some stops on the routes included: Advance America, American Credit Acceptance, Boiler Tube Co., City of Spartanburg, Contec, Eaton, Johnson Development Associates, Inc., Kohler, Lancaster, OTO Development, Spartanburg School District 7, Tietex, and William Barnet & Sons. Additional bags were collected throughout the week.
TOTAL IMPACT $48,971 in goods and volunteer hours! THANK YOU to everyone that made Overflow 2019 such a success!!
