fall FOOD DRIVES

IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN FOOD.

Over 1 in 10 people in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties lack adequate access to food. Too many of our neighbors don’t know where their next meal is coming from or must choose between skipping meals and paying their bills.

Food insecurity is a complicated, pervasive problem in our country and community--one that is intertwined with poverty, low wages, educational opportunity, access to healthcare, and more. And meeting a basic need like food is a way to immediately support a local family so they can make ends meet.

At United Way of the Piedmont, we are uniquely equipped to bring together resources, partnerships, and people to address challenges like food insecurity. We're making progress, but there's more work to do.

Join us for our annual Fall Food Drive so together we can help families thrive.

SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES

As part of our work to help families become financially stable, United Way of the Piedmont hosts food drives across Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties.

We don't want families to have to choose between putting food on the table and paying for rent. You can help make this a reality by joining us.

See below for details on how you can get involved with your company or community group.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY

Step One: Let us know how many boxes your company plans to fill!

To make collections easy to transport and store at our partners’ facilities, we use boxes to place all collected food goods.  Please email partnerships@uwpiedmont.org by Tuesday, October 10 to confirm how many boxes of food your company/group would like to set as a goal to donate. 1 box = 1 completed shopping list for a family.

Step Two: Pick up your boxes at our Fall Food Drive Kick-off!

United Way of the Piedmont will provide boxes, generously sponsored by Contec, for your collection.

Please plan to stop by the Denny’s Building (203 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC) on Wednesday, October 11 between 3 - 6 PM to pick up your boxes! We want to have your boxes ready for you, so please remember to complete Step One and let us know how many boxes you plan to fill.

Step Two: Rally your workplace to collect food!

Collection runs Friday, October 13- Friday, November 10. Click the button below to get the completed shopping list for each box. Remember, each box should include the full list of grocery items.

Step Three: Drop off your boxes!

Drop off your completed food boxes on Tuesday, November 14  from 9 AM to 12 PM directly at The Bridge at Green Street ( (976 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC).

Donate food through Roonga, the online donation drive platform. Make your donation completely online, and Roonga conveniently delivers your donation directly to local food pantries.
