TRANSPORTATION TO WORK

Lack of transportation is one of the top barriers to financial stability for families in our community. Many families cannot afford to purchase a vehicle, or if they already have one, they can't afford unexpected repairs. Because of this, their employment options are severely limited. That's why United Way of the Piedmont is working with Commute with Enterprise to provide transportation to work for families in our community.

HOW IT WORKS

Through Commute with Enterprise, local companies in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties can provide vanpools for their employees to get to work. At participating companies, employees who ride in the vanpool pay an affordable weekly rate to receive transportation to work together.

When a company signs up for the program, United Way of the Piedmont subsidizes the cost of the vanpool. For commutes that start or end in Spartanburg County, the City of Spartanburg also helps with the cost.

This program benefits both the employees needing transportation and employers looking to recruit and retain employees. Find out how you can participate below.
