One Who Cares: Chunsta Miller Receives the 2025-2026 Morgan Award
Chunsta Miller is United Way of the Piedmont's 2025-2026 Morgan Award winner.
The Morgan Award dates to 1986, the same year United Way of the Piedmont established the General Daniel Morgan Leadership Society to recognize donors giving $1,000 or more each year. Each year, the award honors one leadership donor whose giving reflects the words inscribed on it: "One Who Cares."
This year, that donor is Chunsta.
Service across our community
Chunsta serves on our Board of Directors. She also takes an active role in our African American Leadership Society and Women United, two donor networks that bring neighbors together around shared giving and leadership. Beyond United Way, Chunsta gives her time to Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina and serves on many other boards and committees.
What ties this work together is how Chunsta leads. She has a gift for bringing people together and connecting them to what our community needs. That is the same spirit that has driven United Way here for 90 years.
Celebrating 90 Years Together
We presented the award on September 29 at our Leadership Society Reception. Members of the General Daniel Morgan Leadership Society and the Tocqueville Society gathered with partners to mark 90 years of United Way of the Piedmont.
Ninety years ago, neighbors in Spartanburg decided this community was worth organizing around. Leadership donors like Chunsta carry that decision forward today.
Thank you to Chunsta and to every leadership donor and partner shaping what comes next for families across Cherokee, Spartanburg, and Union counties.
